My Journey from Tragedy to Testimony: Why I Write Biblical Fiction

On September 11, 2001, my life was irrevocably changed. My father, Stanley R. Hall, was among the 184 souls lost when American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon. In an instant, the world I knew crumbled, plunging me into a profound abyss of grief, doubt, and spiritual desolation.

In the aftermath, I grappled with questions that shook the very foundation of my faith: How could a benevolent God allow such suffering? Was He truly present in our darkest moments? Seeking solace, I turned to literature, immersing myself in the works of authors like J.R.R. Tolkien, whose narratives of loss and redemption resonated deeply with my own experiences. Through these stories, I found a mirror to my pain and a pathway to healing.

Silent Resolve and the Trilogy of Kings Saga
This journey led me to pen Silent Resolve and the God Who Let Me Down, a candid exploration of my spiritual odyssey through grief. Yet, it was through the realm of Biblical fiction that I discovered a profound medium to process my sorrow and share the hope I had reclaimed.

In The Stone of Ebenezer, I delve into the Biblical account of Israel's defeat at Aphek and the subsequent loss of the Ark of the Covenant. This narrative, rich in historical and archaeological context, parallels the turmoil I experienced, offering insights into faith amidst adversity. Similarly, The Anointed One continues this thread, weaving tales of ancient struggles that mirror contemporary quests for meaning and resilience.

Writing Biblical fiction has become more than a literary endeavor; it is a testimony to the transformative power of faith and storytelling. Through these narratives, I aim to illuminate the enduring truth that—even in our deepest despair—hope can emerge, and faith can be restored.

For those navigating their own valleys of sorrow, may these stories serve as beacons, guiding you toward healing and reaffirming the unwavering presence of grace in our lives.
